Communication Adviser, Bureau of Meteorology
Clare Mullen works at the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) as a Communication Adviser. She is a meteorologist with a Masters in Communications. Her current role as a content specialist includes presenting BOM Webinars, contributing to script for the Climate and Water Outlook videos, and acting as a BOM STEM Ambassador.After more than 30 years at the BOM, career highlights range from giving weather briefings at a Madonna concert to checking aviation forecasts in the cockpit with Qantas pilots; as well as helping out at numerous conferences, trade displays and Field days to answer weather questions. Clare has even had her own cyclone! (Tropical cyclone Clare, 5–10 Jan 2006).Clare loves talking to people about what the Bureau does via various channels – media, social media, video, webinars, and occasional presentations. The BOM aims to assist with safety, security and economic prosperity for the Australian community; Clare helps deliver the required information.
