Cobi joined the Centre for Social Impact in mid-2019 to catalyse a collaboration with UNSW Science about research for social impact.
Cobi has more than a decade of experience working at the intersection of environmental governance, health communication and disaster response, beginning with bushfire recovery reporting as an ABC journalist. She has been employed in organizations ranging from the United Nations in Geneva to most recently the South Australian Department of Environment and Water.
Cobi has edited several educational books on topics including climate change, migration and media convergence. Her PhD thesis explored tradeoffs in deliberative public engagement with science.
Cobi returned home to Adelaide to live by the coast around family and became a new mother weeks before her PhD was conferred in 2018.
