Online Media Manager, Ecological of Australia / Communication Coordinator, Conservation Ecology Centre
Toni is a science communicator with a passion for conservation and ecology. She currently manages communication activities for both the ESA and CEC, from social media and newsletters to websites and media, fundraising and the promotion of awards. She believes sharing the stories of our wild places allows people to understand the value of conserving them. She is thrilled to be able to use her unique skill set to support those working in the field of ecology, helping them to find and share the stories in their science.
Toni honed her science communication skills during five years at Melbourne science PR firm Science in Public during which time she was also active in the local branch of the Australian Science Communicators. Before that, she wrote environmental impact assessments at an engineering consultancy. Toni completed degrees in Journalism and Environmental Science at the University of Canberra and spent her honours year studying the habits of the endangered Grassland Earless Dragon. She is a 2016 Fellow of the Centre for Sustainability Leadership.
