Candice Lever

RISE Communications Officer, Monash Sustainable Development Institute

Candice is a global health communications practitioner. She specialises in promoting global programs that work towards improving the health of vulnerable communities, particularly in developing countries.

Candice joined the Monash Sustainable Development Institute in March 2019, and leads communications for the Institute’s major water and sanitation research initiative, RISE (Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environments). This role sees her liaise with global researchers, in-country teams, funding partners, business and communities in Indonesia, Fiji and Australia, making sure consistent messages are delivered internally and externally.

Candice is interested in the socio-cultural and economic factors that lead to worse health outcomes for some populations than others, and is a passionate advocate for health equity.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Media & Communications) from the University of Melbourne, and a Masters in International Public Health from the University of Sydney.
