Senior Manager for STEM Content, Questacon
Dr Kennett is Senior Manager for STEM Content at Questacon where he leads the exhibition design teams, M&E and Research and Indigenous Engagement. Rod completed his BSc at Macquarie University in 1985, Honours at ANU in 1987, and a PhD from University of Queensland in 1994, and holds a post-graduate qualification in Professional Management. He has 70 publications in science, management and community and livelihood development including an article in Nature, and was shortlisted for Northern Territory Literary Award. In 2012 he served on the National Expert Working Group for Indigenous Engagement in Science. He has secured over $12 million in funding over his career including three ARC grants and won numerous awards including four Banksia Foundation Environmental Awards. In 2013 he was a Fulbright Scholar in Alaska studying Indigenous Conservation-based Livelihoods. His CV includes university teaching and research appointments including at the University of Canberra; Natural and Cultural Programs Manager at Kakadu National Park; Program Manager at the North Australian Indigenous Land and Sea Management Alliance; and Director of Native Title Land and Water Research at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander Studies.
